Fishing
When equipped with a fishing rod, players can walk to certain "bubbly" areas of water and press G
to fish. Currently, the only catchable fish are Sun Carp, which come in different sizes.
Fishing Competition
The fishing competition is an event that occurs on Fjolarok every day at 19:00 GMT. When Angler Nayla appears next to the dock north of the Hermit's Shack, players can participate in the fishing competition by catching Ancient Sun Carp at locations where players normally catch Sun Carp. The competition gives players 10 minutes to prepare, and then 10 minutes to fish. The player who caught and handed in the largest Ancient Sun Carp earns Angler's Marks, which can be exchanged for better fishing rods and Cerulean Pearls, which are used to augment fishing rods. Cerulean Pearls cost 4 Angler's Marks each, whereas fishing rods cost different amounts of Angler's Marks depending on their rarity. The top three entrants win Angler's Marks (35, 20 and 10) which can be traded in for Cerulean Pearls, Common Fishing Rods, Magic Fishing Rods and Rare Fishing Rods. Players must use the Competition Rod to participate, which can be obtained from Angler Nayla for free, thus obviating the need to buy a Flimsy Fishing Rod from the Hermit.
