Version 0.15.0[edit]

Leagues[edit]

The base code for Leagues has been added to the main server. This involves the following:

  • When creating a new character, you will choose if you want to join the standard or hardcore league
  • Prophecies have been removed entirely (except for the fact that you can choose to be hardcore by joining the hardcore league)
  • Hardcore and non-hardcore players join different instances of maps (even of maps like Fjolarok)
  • Dying in hardcore causes your character to get moved to the standard league
  • Maps no longer spawn be default. I.e. if you're the first player to enter the sewer, you'll see the map being generated 'on demand'

Trials of the Abyss[edit]

Compete against other players for the top spot on the leaderboards. The trials are located east of the frogs in Fjolgard and can be accessed through the portal. Each trial costs Abyssal Lodestone x 1 (obtained from level 16+ mobs, with the highest chance to obtain one being 5% from level 20 mobs). Before entering a trial, you will also choose which tier to enter. Higher tiers mean mobs with more health, more damage and better rewards.

Removal of PvP[edit]

For now, since prophecies have been removed, PvP is not available. But never fear. PvP will be back, stronger than before, likely within the next few months.

Account[edit]

  • You can now link your account to an E-Mail address. Doing this will allow you to change your password (even when you've forgotten it)
  • Characters with linked accounts will receive 10 extra inventory slots

Leaderboard[edit]

The leaderboard has been removed from Coreward (the Isleward engine) and rebuilt in a mod. You'll notice that it looks different and is also no longer accessible from the bottom-right menu, but rather from the main menu.

Balance[edit]

  • Changed the distance at which objects/mobs become visible from 25 tiles horizontally and 14 tiles vertically to 32 and 17 respectively

Random Map Generator[edit]

The random map generator has been enhanced to allow more 'configurability'. Specifically, maps can now override:

  • How often hallways appear (previously hard-coded to 1 hallway between each 2 rooms)
  • Which direction to force (or prefer) for the general layout
  • Which directions to ignore completely
  • Amount of mobs to spawn per 'spawner' (infinite before)
  • Maximum connections per room (before this was defined by the amount of connections set up in the template)

Known issues[edit]

  • Note that players might not always receive the extra inventory slots for a linked account. If you don't get your slots, please re-log a few times. If that still doesn't solve it, please wait for the official fix
  • There are invisible walls south-east of the frogs
  • Sometimes, exiting a trial causes you to freeze. A re-log fixes this
  • Sometimes, entering a trial too quickly after leaving the previous trial will cause you to join the old instance, wasting your [Abyssal Lodestone]. Sorry about that
  • Logging in after linking your account still requires you to use your username, not E-Mail
