When equipped with a fishing rod, players can walk to certain "bubbly" areas of water and press "G" to fish. Currently, the only catchable fish are Sun Carp, which come in different sizes.

Fishing Competition

The fishing competition is an event that occurs on Fjolarok. When Angler Nayla appears at a regular intervals, players can participate in the fishing competition by catching Ancient Carp at locations where players normally catch Sun Carp. Players can obtain a free Competition Rod from Angler Nayla to participate. Players who catch the largest Ancient Carp earn Angler's Marks, which can be exchanged for better fishing rods and Cerulean Pearls, which are used to augment fishing rods. Cerulean Pearls cost 4 Angler's Marks each, whereas fishing rods cost different amounts of Angler's Marks depending on their rarity.

Ancient Carp cannot be stored between competitions, as any Ancient Carp in a player's inventory is deleted at the start of each competition. However, Competition Rods may be kept and used normally, obviating the need to buy a Flimsy Fishing Rod from the Hermit. The first place player receives 35 marks, second place gets 20, and third place gets 10 marks.
